The earliest recorded meeting was held at Harraby Park Stadium at Holme near Carlisle on 21st July 1928 on the grass circuit.

  The track continued to act as a Training track throughout the 1928 season.

  As was customary with speedway tracks, it also hosted greyhound racing, with the first meeting taking place on 9th June 1928.

Racing did cease at Harraby in 1928 but speedway returned to Carlisle at Moorville Manor in 1937
